The Legacy for Our Children

I am sure I am not alone in my endeavors to save money, be debt-free, save for my children's college education, retire with dignity, and contribute to my community. My family and I work hard to live within our means. We fight constantly against frequent cases of "I want", but we do this so that we can contribute to our retirement funds, so that we can invest, so that we can put money into our children's funds for their future. So, when I see our government, led by President Obama, making decisions that put us further and further into debt that WILL have to be paid back by my children and their children, it doesn't just scare me, it infuriates me. Money for the housing crisis, money for welfare, money to pay for other people's children to get a higher education. Where does the money come from? From people like me and my family. People who work to build a future for their families. Our government is taking over roles and rights that do not belong to it. It isn't the government's role to dole out charity. That role belongs to the individual and to the church and to the community. My government is stepping on my toes and trampling my rights.
I am not going to apologize for being a conservative. I am not going to apologize for recognizing that there is a difference between our Constitutional Right of FREEDOM OF RELIGION and what the liberals would like us to believe, which is freedome FROM religion. We are a Christian nation. You only have to look at the documents from our founding to realize that this is the truth. We have a separation of church and state so that one church and one denomination cannot make decisions for the well-being of our country and dictate policy from the pulpit. But, we are a Christian nation, or we were until the far left figured out that they could stir up enough grief and make the rest of us apologize for our religion.
I won't apologize anymore. This country needs a RENAISSANCE, a Reagan-esque renaissance. Let the re-birth begin! That's the legacy I want to leave for my children -- courage to be fiscally responsible, courage to stand up to far left agendas, courage to live their faith, and courage to stand up for their rights, as guaranteed to them in the Constitution of the United States, their country. No more apologies.

Growing Pains

We are trying to establish and grow the Conservative Republican Party in our small county. It is slow going, but that is to be expected. People fear change, as you can see from the backlash against President Obama's "Change" motto now that we see what "change" he was discussing. But, our party, the conservative party, does have to change in the sense that we have to adapt our methods of communication to fit the times. If all we are doing is posting bumper stickers and putting out yard signs, we aren't going to have success reaching younger voters, who are looking for our message. We have to meet them in the way they are comfortable with. So, we create websites, and use facebook and myspace and twitter. But, we have to realize that we have to figure out what they are looking for, what they, the younger voters, need from us, and then give it to them. Our party believes in strong families, limited government, opportunity for all, personal responsibility, rugged individualism, principled, innovative leadership, honest compassion, quality education, and FREEDOM. These principles are outlined and discussed in detail on the Texas GOP site. Younger voters need to know that we are for them, that our party represents what is good and right with our country, what is worth fighting for. But, how do we go about reaching them?
